Camp Monterey operates under the direction of the family of "Miss Dollie" Williams who founded and directed Camp Monterey for fifty years. "Mr. Malcolm" and "Miss Patsy" Williams who operate our brother camp, Camp Country Lad, are directly involved in maintaining and advising the staff at Camp Monterey. The current directors are former campers and counselors who spent many summers at Camp Monterey and came back with their own daughters as Senior Staff to work with "Miss Dollie."
Counselors are
carefully selected college age young women who in many cases are former
Camp Monterey campers or recommended by our staff. Assistant
Counselors are high school graduates who assist counselors
in camper cabins. Junior Counselors are our oldest
campers and assist in one activity.
The Senior Staff is made up of mothers who teach the various activities at camp and are unit leaders, in charge of a unit of girls in one grade, accompanying them on all excursions.
Our Dining Hall is managed and staffed by mothers with experience in group cooking who have children attending camp.
